Harmony Explores Catalina Island: Day 1

                                 Destination: Santa Catalina Island, California!

Harmony School of Excellence-Austin embarks on yet another incredible science adventure to the grandest Channel Island off the Pacific Coast of California - Santa Catalina Island. Ms. Scott, in her 7th year of leading out-of-state science trips, with the help of chaperons Mr. Silva & Ms. Safara, recruit 15 middle & high school students for an experience of a lifetime at the Catalina Island Marine Institute.

We flew from Austin to Los Angeles, vanned to Long Beach, lodged in the historic Queen Mary Ship, ferried to Catalina, and finally arrived at our CIMI Campus called Fox Landing. To call this place incredible was an understatement, and to call it home for the next five days seemed unreal

We rolled our luggage down the dock to our water-front cabins, anxious and excited to dive into the crystal aqua water and learn from Our Blue Planet.
