Keystone, Colorado Science Trip 2016: Day 1

Harmony Public Schools has invaded Keystone Science School!

After an EARLY morning flight, we made it to our destination around 9 in the morning.  We dropped off our luggage at the dorm, and divided into our hiking groups for the week:
"The Wolf Pack" (the boys) and "Super Llama Girl Power Ice Fire Chickens" (the girls)!

The Wolf Pack and Rachel began with ice breaker activities on the stunning Keystone Science School campus. The weather could not have been more welcoming and gorgeous to explore our new outdoor classroom.
Francisco and Erick get geared up for Mountain climate.

Instructor Rachel and Vincent have a future so bright, they have to wear shades!

The girls are becoming Wilderness Women one challenge-at-a-time.
Perseverance, adversity, focus, and confidence are all faced with fearlessness.

This was a first for most of the students, so slips and falls were everywhere.  Fortunately, Keystone has 5 feet of fresh snow, so falling didn't hurt.  (Actually, it was pretty fun!) :)

HSA Teacher Chaperon, Mr. Ohrt, is clearly having a horrible time here in the Rocky Mountains. His negative energy is putting a damper on everyone's spirits.

Jared O. is a KSS veteran, which is obvious from his cross-country skiing abilities.
His amazing attitude set the mood for the Wolf Pack.

Lizeth and Angelica immerse themselves in a challenging new activity, while enjoying an afternoon in nature.

 Sisters help each other.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

By the end of the day, most of us had been awake for 20 hours!

Flex time fun!
